In this woodworking video I use a woodturning lathe to turn a large spalted beech log into a beaded vase. When woodturning a piece like I find it important to nibble away at it until I see what shape the wood wants to be, this is what is so enjoyable about woodturning. If you find these videos entertaining I’d appreciate you like, share and subscribe.I really appreciate your videos, nice close up shots to show tool angles on cuts.Good editing to share a lot of the critical work.I can only imagine the total time on this beautiful piece.Thank you for sharing this,it is inspiring to me.I think you’ve outdone yourself on this one. The beading makes it appear woven only more beautiful. I liked the whomping willow, much more before you painted it; I’m glad to see you make this one natural. I’d be interested in know where it ends up. Thanks for sharing. What a nice piece. I watched to see how you would do the inside cavity. You know in metal work we use a mount called a steady rest. It would need to have roller bearings but not hard to make.
